In the recent years optical code-division multiple access (OCDMA) systems have experienced
increasing research attention because they offer several attractive features such as asynchronous
access, privacy and security in transmission, ability to support variable bit rate.
This work describes OCDMA employing One – Dimensional OOC code system from points
such as its operation, advantages, the most common one – dimension codes which used in
OCDMA, also describe how we can construct Optical Orthogonal Code ‘‘OOC’’ as one of the
best codes used in OCDMA system due to its properties.
