ABSTRACT
Electricity generation in Egypt is among the largest sectors of Energy consumption of primary
energy. The Electricity audit at hand is a case study with the objective of identifying the major
areas of electricity consumption of the different groups of the population of Alexandria-Egypt.
The approach used in the case study can be also useful to other developing countries. Comfort
conditioning (26%), food reservation (20%), illumination (19%), and water heating (13.0%) are
found to be the leading sectors of electricity consumption. The energy consumption per person is
about 1450 KWh, and the number of consumers in Alexandria is about 1.756 million, which the
maximum load demand in about 1800MW, and the electricity demand has been rising sharply
over the recent ten years at an annual average rate of approximately 6.5% .The potential of
benefiting from available renewable energy resources to alleviate electricity consumption is
discussed.
So that's the case? Quite a reevaliton that is.
