This paper, we study the effect of exciter control system parameters on fault duration which
causes initiation of voltage instability and voltage collapses are accomplished. The effect of each
of the excitation control system parameters alone within its limits while remain parameters are
considered constant on the fault duration, which cause voltage instability initiation when a three
phase short-circuit occurs at certain node in the studied system. Also, searches for the effect of
varying the exciter control parameters each of them alone within its limit while, the remain
parameters are considered constant on the fault duration which cause initiation of voltage
collapse due to opening the transmission line between two nodes in the studied system.
