ABSTRACT
The aim of this paper is to study the transmission of the compressed image bitstream over
wireless networks. The image coding using Set-Partitioning in Hierarchical Trees (SPIHT)
method is introduced to study the performance of the image transmission over the wireless
channel. Moreover, study of source significant information (SSI) is introduced as a part of this
framework. The error-resilient is achieved by different methods. The effect of using three type of
channel coding is introduced in this work. Hamming code, Reed Solomon (RS) code, and Rate
Compatible Punctured coding (RCPC) are used as a channel coding with the current image
coding technique to study the Forward error correction (FEC) performance in each case. The
range of the channel error probability is chosen in the range of the BPSK modulation technique.
Finally, the inner and outer coding based on (RS) codes & (RCPC) codes is presented in the
simulation results.
Yo, that's what's up trufthully.
