ABSTRACT
For correlated observations an L1-norm adjustment can be achieved, if the original
observations are transformed into Helmert’s equivalent observations which are no more
correlated and posse’s unit weight as can be expected by factorial analysis. The objective
function then is related to the minimum L1-norm of the relating equivalent residuals. Thisstudy extends robust L1-norm estimation method to the case of correlated observations with
the help of factorial analysis. The properties of the solution have been investigated. Very
simple simulated example shows the applications of the proposed method. Also a real data of
a geodetic network had been studied.
