ABSTRACT
This paper is intended to describe the procedure of sizing a PV grid connected solar home
system (SHS). A moderate house in Gharian city was selected for the said purpose. The load
profile of the house was estimated excluding heating and air conditioning loads. PV system
sizing was done by utilizing the estimated energy consumption and the climatic data for the
selected site. The energy produced by the sized PV system is estimated and the main
parameters of the system performance were investigated. The results showed that PV grid
connected SHS could be used to fulfill the load requirement fully or partially and also could
feed the surplus energy to the grid during day time.
