Abstract

Many dangerous problems can be taken place due to hydrates formation in natural gas

mixtures such as; partial or complete plugging of the system. To avoid this problem, the natural

gas mixtures should be far from the hydrate formation conditions in all steps of processing and

transportation. So, the objective of this work was to select the best calculation technique among

the different techniques available in the literature(Hammerschmidt , Katz (Sp. Gr.) Chart, Katz

Technique, Vander Walls and Platteeuw, Trekell-Campbell Charts, McLeod-Campbell, McLeod-

Campbell and Berge) used for natural gas mixtures to view and control the conditions of the

hydrates formation. So; the comparison should be achieved to select the best technique used to

estimate the hydrates formation temperature to keep the natural gas far from this temperature or

to control and inhibit the hydrates formation, and the

Katz, The Trekell-Campbell and The McLeod-Campbell techniques recorded high accuracy.

Each technique gave highest accuracy at specified conditions.
